Feed the Animal
The toy only eats things that start with its sound. Mmm for the cow.
Grab any stuffed animal and give it one rule: it only eats things that start with its sound. In our house the cow eats mmm things, and she is fed constantly.
How to play
-
1
Grab any stuffed animal. A cow is perfect.
-
2
Announce the rule: “She only eats things that start with mmm!”
-
3
Let them hunt the room for muffins, mangos, mittens, mama.
-
4
Make the animal eat it with enormous, ridiculous munching noises. Offer a decoy sometimes: “Can she eat this ball?”
Hearing the first sound in a word.
This game works on hearing beginning sounds. You carry the sound, “she only eats things that start with mmm!”, and your child tests each object before feeding it to the animal. The one-sound rule keeps the listening task simple, while the hunting and ridiculous munching make the repetition feel like play. One sound, one hungry animal, one quick round. Tomorrow, try another.
