The Bridge Game
Cow says moo. Moo starts with mmm. And this letter says mmm too.
This is where everything the other games built comes together, the moment a sound your child already owns becomes a letter they can read. It’s the whole Carla & Max method, in one thirty-second game.
How to play
-
1
Ask what a cow says. They already know: “Moo!”
-
2
Bridge it: “Moo starts with mmm...”
-
3
Show them the letter m: “And this says mmm too.”
-
4
Let them point at it and make the sound themselves. That is their first letter.
The bridge from sound to letter.
This is the bridge from sound to letter. Your child already knows moo. Now they notice that moo begins with mmm, and then they meet the letter that carries that sound. The letter is not arriving as a symbol to memorize, it is arriving attached to something familiar. In the Carla & Max books, the animal is built right into the letter, so the sound, the character, and the shape belong together.
